Shipping & Returns Policy

We want you to buy with confidence at School Outlet!
So we’ve made it easy to buy furniture from our website that might require large trucks to deliver the product to your school, business or home. 

We ship to all 50 states, U.S. territories and Washington D.C.  We are also able to ship to international locations through a freight forwarder of your choosing.  

Your shipping costs are calculated at checkout.  Depending on the weight and size of your order, it will ship either Fedex or UPS Ground, or via LTL truck (less than truckload).  Our team and website will search for the best freight cost from over 10 trucking companies to ensure you get the highest possible service at the lowest price.  

There are a few things we will ask at check-out to ensure your shipment is as hassle free as possible:

For large orders:

  • Call for Appointment: The trucking company will call to set an appointment before your order is delivered.  Please provide us with a good contact phone number during check-out.  You can also leave us an additional phone number or contact name in the comments.
  • Do you have a warehouse or freight dock?  If not, we will request a lift-gate on the truck so the product can easily be unloaded from the truck to the ground.  Note that there is an additional charge for lift-gate.
  • Inside Delivery: All deliveries come standard with delivery to your door or place of business.  If you require the driver to help unload the furniture and bring it in your front door then Inside Delivery is required for an upcharge. 
  • Full Service Delivery: For large orders, we can quote a full furniture installation and dunnage removal.  Costs are computed based on level of service.  Please contact us so we can provide a quote.

Damage & Return Policy

At School Outlet, we do all we can to work with our vendors and freight carriers to ensure your product arrives undamaged and in good condition.  But sometimes damages occur.

And most items at School Outlet can be returned.  The exception will be for custom furniture.  With large furniture items, returns can be a little more difficult and costly than returning a small package so our vendors have return policies that we have simplified here:

  • During Delivery: Take time to inspect all of the product or at a minimum take a look at the boxes.  If the shipment is incorrect or there is any appearance that the merchandise is damaged, refuse the shipment and give us a call immediately at (877) 398-6449.  Make sure you report any damages or problems with merchandise within 5 days of receipt.  

School Outlet will replace damaged products within 5 days.  School Outlet can not be responsible for damage that is reported outside of this 5-day window though we will work through specific circumstances with each customer.

  • At a minimum, if you notice a crushed box or potentially damaged merchandise, be sure to mark this on the delivery paperwork.

Return Policy

If you decide to return an item, you can do so within 30 days of receipt. School Outlet does not accept returns after 30 days. Returns are subject to restock fees that are charged by the vendor, typically at 20% of the product’s value.  School Outlet is not responsible for freight charges or shipping costs to return merchandise.

All orders need to be returned in their original packaging, undamaged and unassembled.

  • Custom Orders: are not returnable.  Before you place your order, please ensure you picked the right color, size and merchandise before placing your order.  Our sales & service team are available to offer advice, provide color samples and in some cases offer product samples at a reduced cost before you place your order. 

Order Cancellations

Need to cancel an order?  No problem… Please notify us as soon as possible before it ships.  If you want to cancel a custom order, it must be canceled before the manufacturer starts to produce your order.
